From breathtaking views, to perfect beaches, and recreational activities, this island has it all to offer like no other.
Located 30 km southeast of Brisbane, travel via a 30 minute Ferry. Multiple buses travel around the island hourly.
For endless summer adventures Straddie has the most beautiful beaches. Including:

I’d recommend spending at least the entire day, as there is so much to explore. Even better North Stradbroke Island has multiple accomodation options including hotels, apartments, and air bnbs. The island is also known as a great camping destination.
2. Burleigh Heads Beach

If you’re looking for a beautiful place to relax, enjoy the ocean, and soak up the Gold Coast atmosphere, Burleigh Heads Beach is hard to beat.
Located in the Gold Coast, this beach is approx 1 hour and 30 minute from Brisbane by car. There are also trains and buses that travel between the destinations.
Surfers Paradise and Burleigh Heads go hand in hand only being 10km away from each other. If you are looking for the proper gold coast experience I would definately add these beaches to your to do list.
Gold Coast is popularly known for having outstanding cafe culture, and food. Within walking distance of these beaches is a diverse range of cafes and resturaunts to try.
3. Noosa Main Beach

One of the things that makes Noosa Main Beach special is its north-facing position. Unlike many other beaches along the coast, it is sheltered from some of the stronger ocean swells, making the water particularly inviting for swimming and enjoying a day by the sea.
Located on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, Noosa Main Beach is one of the region’s most popular destinations and a favourite for both locals and visitors. It is a 1-2 hour drive from Brisbane depending on traffic.
For nature lovers, Noosa Main Beach is close to Noosa National Park. The coastal walking tracks provide spectacular views of the ocean and surrounding headland.
One of the best times to visit is around sunset. As the sun begins to disappear over the horizon, the beach takes on a warm golden glow, creating a peaceful and memorable atmosphere.
4. Moreton Island

Just a short trip from Brisbane, Moreton Island is a beautiful destination filled with sandy beaches, crystal-clear waters, wildlife, and unforgettable adventures.
Located 51km off Brisbane’s coast, this destination is accesible via a 1 hour 30 minute ferry.
Moreton Island is also famous for its outdoor adventures. Visitors can explore the island by four-wheel drive, go sandboarding down the dunes, snorkel in the clear waters, or enjoy kayaking and paddleboarding. The island’s natural environment makes it an exciting destination for people who love being outdoors.
Wildlife is another highlight of visiting Moreton Island. The surrounding waters are home to dolphins, turtles, whales during migration season, and many species of fish and marine life. On land, the island’s forests and dunes provide habitats for a variety of native animals.
If you are a nature lover, Moreton island would be my top choice.
5. Tallebundra Creek

Surrounded by beautiful greenery and located between Burleigh Heads and Palm Beach, this stunning creek is known for its clear water, sandy banks, and relaxed atmosphere.
One of the best things about Tallebudgera Creek is its beautiful water. The calm, shallow sections are perfect for swimming, paddling, and cooling off on a warm Queensland day. The creek is also a popular spot for kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding, giving visitors the opportunity to explore the water at their own pace.
Tall trees, native vegetation, and sandy areas create a peaceful setting for a picnic or a relaxing afternoon outdoors. It’s an ideal place to bring family and friends and enjoy a break from the busier parts of the Gold Coast.
With its clear water, peaceful surroundings, and laid-back atmosphere, Tallebudgera Creek is one of the Gold Coast’s beautiful natural spots and a perfect place to slow down and enjoy the outdoors.
